With the latest state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment, TMC provides a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services, which includes a full range of both traditional and advanced procedures.
The newly renovated GI Services Center at Health Sciences District has staff of 33, including three nurse practitioners and 20 highly trained registered nurses. It features three procedure rooms, 12 prep and recovery rooms and six exam rooms.

MEET OUR PROVIDERS
Esmat Saddedin, MD
Dr. Saddedin is Section Chief of Gastroenterology at Truman Medical Centers and Assistant Professor of Medicine at the UMKC School of Medicine. He received his medical degree at The University of Jordan School of Medicine and completed his residency and fellowship at Truman Medical Centers. He also received advanced therapeutic endoscopic training at Barnes-Jewish Hospital/Washington University in St. Louis, one of the top training centers for gastroenterology in the U.S. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology and has been published extensively in medical journals.
Khalil Abuamr, MD
Dr. Abuamr received his medical degree from The University of Jordan School of Medicine. He completed an internship, residency and Gastroenterology fellowship at Truman Medical Centers. As a resident, he was inducted into the UMKC School of Medicine chapter of the Gold Humanism Honor Society. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.
Stuart Chen, MD
Dr Chen received his medical degree from the College of Medicine National Taiwan University. He completed an internship at Germantown Hospital Medical Center and residencies at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota and at the University of Minnesota at Fairview. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.
T. Malik Mahmoudi, MD
Dr. Mahmoudi received his medical degree from the University of Sidi Bel Abbes Medical School in Algeria, where he also completed an internship, followed by an internship and residency at Drexel University in Philadelphia and a second residency and a Hepatology fellowship at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. He completed a fellowship in Gastroenterology at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver. Dr, Mahmoudi is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology and is an assistant professor of Internal Medicine, Hepatology Section at the UMKC School of Medicine.
Tarek Tamimi, MD
Dr. Tamimi received his medical degree from the University of Jordan School of Medicine. He completed an internship at Al-Hussein Hospital in Al-Salt, Jordan, followed by an internship and residency in internal medicine at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio, where he also completed a fellowship in hepatology and liver transplantation. He completed a second fellowship in Gastroenterology at Case Western Reserve University MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland. Dr Tammimi is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Transplant Hepatology and Gastroenterology. He is assistant professor of medicine in the Internal Medicine Department – Section of Gastroenterology at UMKC School of Medicine.
Osama Yousef, MD
Dr. Yousef received his medical degree from the University of Jordan School of Medicine in Amman. He completed internships at the Al-Bashir Hospital and the Specialty Hospital in Amman, followed by Internal Medicine residency at UMKC School of Medicine, where he also completed a Gastroenterology fellowship. He is the GI Fellowship associate program director, and an assistant professor of Medicine at the UMKC School of Medicine. Dr Yousef in board-certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.
Alison Clifford, MSN, APRN, NP-C
Mrs. Clifford is a certified nurse practitioner whose main interest is in Gastroenterology. Mrs. Clifford received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing at Indiana State University and worked as a registered nurse in the Intensive Care Unit for four and a half years at Truman Medical Center. She received her Master’s degree in Nursing and Family Nurse Practitioner from Graceland University.
Christopher Orallo, MSN, APRN, NP-C
Mr. Christopher Orallo is a certified nurse practitioner, he started with the GI clinic in July 2017. Mr. Orallo received his Advanced Nurse Practitioner degree from Maryville University. He worked as registered nurse in Electrophysiology lab at St. Luke's Hospital and in ICU at Centerpoint Medical Center.
Sara Penaloza, DNP, APRN, NP-C
Dr. Penaloza is a Board-Certified Nurse Practitioner by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). She obtained her Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Creighton University where she graduated with honors in the Family Nurse Practitioner program. Sara obtained her Bachelors of Science degrees in Nursing and Exercise Science at Creighton University. She worked in the Intensive Care Unit at Creighton University Medical Center and in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit at Nebraska Methodist Hospital. Sara has developed a passion in the field of gastroenterology and digestive diseases and strives to provide the best in patient care.
Allyssa Plymell, MSN, APRN, NP-C
Allyssa is an AANP certified nurse practitioner who received her Masters in Nursing at UMKC in 2014. She has been with the Gastroenterology Department at Truman Medical Center since 2015. She enjoys treating and managing multiple GI/Hepatology disease processes including: Crohns, Ulcerative Colitis, Cirrhosis, Hepatitis C, GERD, and many more.
Brynn White, MSN, APRN, NP-C
Mrs. White is an AANP certified Family Practice Nurse Practitioner who received her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing at Rockhurst University and Research College of Nursing. From there, she practiced as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department at Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence, MO for 5 years. In 2015, Brynn received her Master of Science degree, Family Nurse Practitioner from Research College of Nursing and has been working as a partner in the Gastroenterology Department at Truman Medical Center since. Brynn is passionate about healthy living and enjoys helping her clients achieve their fullest potential.
